Parents and citizens association

Our parents and citizens association runs a handful of helpful programs to support our students.

Queen bees

The Queen Bee's — parent activities is where you will find information about upcoming parent sessions at Blacktown North Public School.

All parents are welcome to join the teachers' helper afternoon tea every Tuesday afternoon which is held in the community room. It is a good way to meet other parents and carers within the school community and assist the school in collating and maintaining resources for teachers and their students.

Parents may give 30 minutes of their time to sharpen pencils, cover books and ready resources for your children to use in class. Tea and coffee is provided and children are welcome, for more information come and see Casey in the community room.

Time and location

Every Tuesday at 2pm in the community room.

Busy bees transition

Our busy bees program operates every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:45am to 10:40am. During this time children are introduced to some of the school routines and have the opportunity to develop essential skills.

Below are some examples of why it is beneficial for students to be involved in transition to school programs:

  • Helps facilitate a smooth and seamless transition of young children into school.
  • Planned activities to engage children and develop their academic and social skills.
  • Exposure to the English language.
  • Become familiar with the school surroundings.
  • Form relationships with other pre-school aged children and achieve social success.
  • Develop links between parents prior to school.
  • Children develop a sense of belonging.

Please contact the school office for an enrolment form or for further information.

Bumble bees playtime

Every Monday from 9am to 11am parents and children (0 to 5 years) meet in our community hub room for playtime. During this time children have the opportunity to socialise and develop a range of early learning skills. Children also take great delight in being able to share their developmental playtime with their parents. All parents and children are very welcome.

As a group we enjoy reading time, songs, craft and free play. Please pack your child a lunch box, as we have snack time at 10:15am. We highly recommend you pack fruit, such as grapes, apples and bananas. For more information please contact the school.
